Our favorite celebrity-scientist has to be Bill Nye. We all remember chanting along, "Bill, Bill, Bill, Bill" with the Science Guy TV show as kids.

Nowadays, he has taken a serious stand on the environment and climate change. If we may borrow his catchphrase for a moment, here at Concord Toyota, we believe that together we can -- dare we say it? -- change the world!

The Toyota Environmental Challenge 2050 sets a high bar for success, and a low tolerance for greenhouse emissions. By mid-way through the century, Toyota aims to cut the total life-cycle carbon emissions of its vehicles -- including manufacturing, tailpipe, and disposal -- to zero. Carbon is one of the leading greenhouse gasses responsible for climate change, and if Toyota can create carbon-neutral cars, it would be an unprecedented step forward to a sustainable future.

To fulfill this challenge, Toyota is investing in diverse fields.

The Toyota Research Institute is developing robotics designed to improve mobility, and safety -- and also to streamline manufacturing processes. The automaker is developing hydrogen as a clean alternate fuel source, innovating new DNA analysis techniques, and making breakthroughs to bring superior magnesium-ion batteries closer to market. Apart from its own research, Toyota charitably supports other conservation organizations, including the IUCN, and Yellowstone National Park.

Do you believe there is still hope for our planet's future? Can humans really live in harmony with nature? Join us at Concord Toyota, serving the San Francisco Bay Area for 40 years, and help change the world one low-emission vehicle at a time.
